The new University of Minnesota’s Microbiology Research facility, home to the Department of Microbiology, is an 80,000 sq. ft. building which includes labs and office space for the study of infectious diseases, and will support the development of new drugs and vaccines. DAI’s own Kathy Mannie worked closely with Principle Investigators to secure an order for 33 biological safety cabinets from The Baker Company. The university chose Baker’s Sterilgard SG504 and SG604 models for the quality of construction, the ergonomic features and the energy savings these models provide. Due to the pathogens that researchers would be working they felt the peace of mind of a quality product was worth more than a low price from another brand. Kathy’s in-depth knowledge on The Baker Company product line ensured that no questions were left unanswered.
